In the March 9th issue of the Times Herald Record's 'GO Healthy', health editor Beth Quinn wrote about The Skipper Initiative, Shaken Baby Syndrome and the regional Hudson Valley SBS Prevention Initiative being coordinated by Westchester Medical Center and the Child Advocacy Center at Faieri Childrens Hospital. The April 2005 edition of Pediatrics included an article by Dr. Mark Dias reporting on the successful implementation of the education program in Buffalo: there has been a sustained 47 percent reduction in inflicted head trauma since the program was initiated in Buffalo area hospitals.
